Uncle San Fransisco
You've probably noticed a common trend of Camille and I taking trip after trip together. I'd say we have been more than blessed to enjoy many months of adventurous bliss. We were giving lots of thanks for our Thanksgiving get away to San Fransisco to visit both her uncle and mine. After a traditional turkey dinner with my family we were on the road to the west coast! About 5 minutes into our drive I said "WAIT!". Camille looked at me confused and said,
"what....? did you forget something?" I had forgotten my ID! She asked me why I needed it? After all, she was the one driving. I responded, "Well, what if we decide to go skydiving or something?" That is when we knew this was going to be a good trip.
We arrived about 4am to Uncle Allen's house where we crashed on the couch until later that morning.
Luckily, when we finally woke up from our belated beauty rest, we were both on the same page and started looking up locations where we could jump out of an airplane. Her uncle and his partner decided to stay behind while we drove out to Tracy California to check this off of our bucket lists.
Tracy is on the out-skirts of San Fransisco and we picked the best day to skydive. Since it was Black Friday, we both got a discount :D.
I jumped with a young man from Australia named Morgan and she jumped with a hilarious guy who will remain nameless because I only remember the name of the one with my same name. oops.
The experience was unforgettable. I was expecting it to be like a giant rollercoaster ya know? That whole steal your stomach then give it back again feeling. IT WAS NOTHING LIKE THAT. The second we were out of that plane, we were just flying. It was like for the first time my spirit got to take over while my body just sat back and watched. It was surprisingly peaceful.
**Disclaimer. If you are going to go skydiving. Which you should. Be prepared to possibly loose your hearing for a day...hahaha that was the only negative thing I experienced. The air pressure messed with my ears for the rest of the day **
The next day we did my favorite thing to do in the morning, which is to get a delicious breakfast from a local cafe. This time topped all others because we met up with my amazing uncle Randy. He is absolutely inspiring! I won't say too much, because I don't have his permission to expose personal details, but I want him to know how amazing I think he is if he ever reads this! He is the type of person that you are edified by after spending time with him. I love him very much!
I don't have any pictures, but we also got to stay with Camille's uncle Allen and he is equally amazing! He has such a kind heart and he took us to all the greatest local food joints in the area.
Our last day we spent in the breathtaking mountains. I will never get over the absolute beauty of moss covered tree trunks and endless green both on the ground and up high. California is definitely one of a kind.
I like to be outside because I feel very close to my creator. I enjoy pondering how he made things; how he made me. I look at all of the natural giants that surround me; they make me feel small and even insignificant. At the same time, I feel a special warmth inside because so many events in my life and the natural giants themselves prove that there is a God who loves me. There is a God. All of the spontaneous steps in my life and led me to a clear understanding of this. There is a verse in scripture that also echoes my same testimony, it says,
xoxo
Morgan
